Key Responsibilities
The duties of this role relate to the maintenance and support of BWCI internalapplications, IT infrastructure and cloud services.It is sometimes a requirement of this role to work outside of normal working hours,and sometimes unsociable hours. Compensation is provided as part of theremuneration package for this.The vast majority of our staff are located in our Guernsey office, but we have severalfully remote workers throughout the business, working from their homes throughoutEurope and the UAE.
- Provide user and server level 2 system support/troubleshooting to resolve various issues liaising with internal teams and external contractors as required.
- Provide Project delivery expertise and support, for various company projects from inception through to implementation.
- Provide support for BWCI’s corporate web-based applications and servers, working with external contractors where required.
- Provide user and back-end application support for a variety of desktop, server, printing and cloud services.
- Perform server maintenance and support for live server and web environments.
- Provide support for patching of Servers and Desktops, following up on any issues raised.
- Assist with preparation for and conduct business continuity testing.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in helpdesk or equivalent role
- 3-5 years knowledge of application support / server management experience.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, applications and cloud technologies essential.
- Good working knowledge of server virtualisation, experience of using VMware products in a multi-host environment.
- Some experience of programming would be desirable (PowerShell, C#, ASP.NET, MVC Framework, HTML, CSS, Git).
- Good knowledge of SQL, Database structures.
- Good knowledge of Citrix technologies and application deployment.
- Understanding of financial software (NavOne) and payment systems would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with the Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels in the organisation.
- Methodical, conscientious and organised, works to deliver high standards.
- Ability to meet deadlines and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Work with minimal supervision after an initial training.
- Strong IT skills, working knowledge of computer systems within the broad technical environment.
- Flexible with ability to work out of hours as required.
